Page 60, last paragraph of a book (Essentials of Writing Biomedical Research Papers) found on Google Book search explains why repeating a word in the same sentence,  let alone next to one another is not very elegant.

But I am going to do it anyway.

Google Street View has been in the news a lot recently. If you haven’t heard or read about it lately, just Google Google Street View.

So now I am going to add my two cents to the news surrounding Google Street View car.  Here is some brand spanking new footage of the Google Street View car here in Downtown Portland on Thursday the 23rd of April, approx. 12:45 pm. During the Lunch hour! Talk about Photo Ops!

I admit the footage is a little shaky. I was on the MAX yellow line to City Center, rounding the corner onto SW Morrison from SW 1st Ave. when I saw the Google Street View car at the stoplight. It took a second or two to sink in. I then snapped into action and realized I had my trusty little prehistoric digital camera in my backpack.

When I got off at the MAX stop in front of Borders, I looked back and saw that the Google car was now stopped at the 2nd Ave. stoplight. I ran down to the end of the street towards 2nd Ave.to snap a picture, but naturally the light turned green, and the MAX was in the way for a good photo. So I had to run the full length of the block from 2nd Ave to 3rd Ave., because, of course this particular yellow line was 2 train cars long, instead of  1.

The MAX got out of the way just in time for me to snap a photo of the all seeing eye. The look on the drivers face was priceless. Almost like the proverbial deer caught in the headlights look. I even managed to get that shaky video above from the same camera.

Below is the current Google Street View Image of the same location

And the current Google Street View shot below is where I was standing today when I took the photo.

Double-Plus good eh?
